Description
The CWT Anti-Vibration Pads are 100% locally manufactured and are resistant to weather, rot, and distortion.
Usage
The use of anti-vibration pads is recommended for machinery that may transmit vibration to the floor surface beneath it. Generally for stability four pads are used – one under each corner or foot.
These anti-vibration pads are perfect to use between your anvil and stand to dampen sound and vibration while hammering.
Construction and Properties
Each pad measures 100mm x 100mm x 20mm and is constructed in three layers to enhance optimum anti-vibration properties.
The middle layer is a RG grade cross-linked, closed cell expanded ethylene vinyl acetate foam and is resistant to oil and diluted alkalis and acids.
The top and bottom harder layers sandwich the foam and are made from specially moulded SBR rubber, ribbed to restrain the machine from movement.
Application
The pad is designed to operate at a loading of up to 5kgs/cm². Each full pad can comfortably support 500kgs with the maximum deflection being 15% or 3mm.
- A unit of 2000 kgs or less will generally require a minimum of 4 pads, one per corner or foot. However, the footprint of the machine may dictate the use of additional pads. For example a machine with a long flimsy channel base may require two or more additional pads.
- For items more than 2000kgs but less than 4000kgs a minimum of 8 pads will be required, 2 pads per corner or foot, laid side by side (not stacked on top of each other)
