Description
These 1043 carbon steel hammer blanks are easy to punch and form into different hammers like dogs head or rounding hammers. For punching the eye we suggest you also get a hammer eye drift from us. This steel can be water quenched, just temper down to at least a straw colour.

1043 is a tough and resilient carbon steel that is easy to forge and heat treat.
Hammer Head Blanks. Does not have eye and has not been hardened.

Applications
Blacksmithing, typically used to forge hammers. Commercially it’s used for dynamo and motorshafts, heat-treated bolts, crankshafts, connection rods, driving rings and flanges, railway couplings, axles, brackets, housing, miscellaneous gun carriage and small arms parts not subjected to high stresses or severe wear.
